Use Case Maps User Group
The Use Case Maps User Group (UCM-UG) was initiated by Ray Buhr and Daniel
Amyot in November 1998 and launched officially on March 19, 1999. Its creation was motivated as follows:
-
An increasing number of people are using UCMs and there is a need for a
forum for discussing issues and exchanging ideas.
-
There was too much to do in applying and championing UCMs for Ray Buhr and
the core team.
-
We are trying to interest the UML/Rational/Objectime community in integrating
UCMs into UML and providing tool support.
Some ammunition from users would be very welcome to show real industrial
interest.
-
There is a need to plan for the future of the UCMNav
tool developed by Andrew Miga at Carleton. The tool was developed
as a demonstration-of-concept prototype and we never had ambitions for
it beyond that. The question now is, how should the tool be made
publicly available (beyond the current way of placing executable files
on the web)? Should source be put on the web? What should we do about licensing?
A UCM-UG could be very helpful in identifying a suitable plan.
